
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH DO SESSIONS COST?
Each session costs $150. Sessions are 50 minutes in length. For in-home visits, an additional mileage fee may be charged depending on location. I accept e-transfer payments or credit card. Psychotherapy with a Registered Social Worker is covered by many insurance providers or extended health benefits. I will issue a receipt with all of the information you will require for your insurance claim. I recommend checking with your provider prior to our first session.

HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU ARE THE RIGHT FIT FOR ME?
One of the most important aspects when engaging in therapy is your comfort and trust in your therapist. You should have a good sense upon our initial session if I am the right fit for you. I am also happy to schedule a complementary 15 minute phone conversation to determine fit and answer any other questions you may have. While I specialize in postpartum counselling, maternal mental health, grief, loss, and parental support, I welcome all clients 13+ for a variety of other needs including anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE OUR APPOINTMENT?
In order to best serve you and others, I ask that you attend your appointment as scheduled. Session fees will be applied for appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice with the exception of illness or emergency.

ARE OUR SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?
As a registered social worker, I am required to keep all information shared in session confidential. There are some exceptions to confidentiality which include:

Disclosure of the intent to harm yourself or someone else.

The abuse of a child under the age of 16 or abuse by a licensed professional.

If case notes are subpoenaed to Court.

If you have signed consent to release information to other care providers.
